Forget lending a hand... little Joe Malcolmson has been lending a foot to help raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
Six-year-old Joe, from Gleadless, has been helping hospice activity coordinator Diane Price to make a Christmas card by dipping his feet in paint to make a beard for Father Christmas.
Joe was born three months early weighing less than two pounds.
He has a genetic syndrome which means he cannot walk or talk and was born without eyes. He is also oxygen dependent and fed through a tube as he is unable to swallow safely.
He has been a regular visitor to Bluebell Wood to give his mum Claire much needed rest, as Joe does not sleep well, and to enable him to join in with all the activities on offer.
Claire said: “I know I’m his mum but he really is an amazing little man!”
