THOMAS Cook is to axe 2,500 jobs around by closing 195 travel agencies.
The job losses will affect travel agents, administration and back-office staff.
Thomas Cook said the closures form part of a restructuring scheme and are aimed at cutting admin costs.
Having recently shut 168 stores, the firm ill be left with 874 travel agencies across the UK and Northern Ireland.
Yesterday the firm said it was consulting with staff set to be affected before announcing which agencies are to close.
