SOUTH Yorkshire businesses are being urged to apply for a share of the Government’s £1.4 billion Regional Growth Fund.

A second round of grants worth up to £1 million is available through the scheme, which is designed to encourage private sector enterprise, growth and jobs.

Sheffield Council’s cabinet member for business, jobs and growth, Coun Helen Mirfin-Boukouris, said: “We are committed to working with businesses to encourage job creation and growth in our local economy.

“The RGF is a substantial resource for business to bid into and by submitting proposals local firms can bring some of this money into our city.”
