Never let it be said that these day people won’t turn a hair for someone in need.
Last Friday, I rebuked the thief who nicked off with the wig from a dummy in the Samaritans’ charity shop window.
Just three days after our story, faith has been restored to staff at the Chapel Walk shop – and dignity to the dummy.
Four wigs had been handed in and another two are on their way.
“They are all really stylish. One had previously been used by cancer patients who had lost their hair and another has been on the stage.
“We want to thank the really kind people who donated them so quickly,” said a shop spokeswoman.
“And please don’t think that having six wigs is over the top,” she added. “Our models are ex John Lewis. They only expect the best and they absolutely love a change of style.”
