Doncaster TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson has suggested that the Top Gear team could make a comeback potentially outside of the BBC.
The TV star made his first public appearance since he was axed from the show at a charity auction in the Cotswolds.
Clarkson acted as host for the event last night and made the comments as he was auctioning off a Top Gear Kung Fu Stig T-shirt which was ‘signed by a former presenter’.
According to the Telegraph, he told the audience: ‘Now some of you know there used to be a programme called Top Gear. It was on the BBC.
‘But we could be back somewhere else. Or maybe even not somewhere else, who knows?’
The auction was held to raise money for the lido in Chipping Norton with Clarkson joking to photographers that he might become an auctioneer: ‘You’ve got to earn a living. Maybe I ought to take it up.’
Clarkson was not renewed on the show after he attacked Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon.
The presenter pulled out of an appearance on Have I Got News For You last week.
