JEAN Davis fell for it.
She believed a scammer claiming to be from Microsoft when he told her her computer was in danger of crashing.
She allowed him to take control of her computer by downloading a program that he told her would fix the problem.
“My mouse pointer was flicking everywhere!” she said.
And she gave him her credit card details when he demanded payment for his services.
Some £97 has been taken from her account – so far.
Jean, aged 66, of Littledale, Sheffield, is the latest person to fall for the long-running and successful scam.
She added: “He was very convincing. Unfortunately, I’m told they also install a programme that gathers information.”
