Jamie Oliver's out to find cooks to help serve up a treat

TV CHEF Jamie Oliver is looking for South Yorkshire sidekicks to run the Rotherham town centre base of his Ministry of Food operation.

Jamie, who wants to teach the people of Rotherham to cook as part of his new TV series, is looking for a full-time manager, part-time staff, and volunteers to run his food centre in All Saints' Square.

Jamie said: "I want a solid cook, not a chef, who is enthusiastic and good with people to become the centre's full-time manager.

"The main thing I'll be looking for is good people-skills and a knowledge of what the area has to offer in terms of great food and fresh produce."

When the food centre is fully up and running Jamie wants to use it to offer recipes and cooking advice and to host food-related events.

"We want that food centre to be chugging away and providing a useful service long after we've gone," he said.

"Filming Ministry of Food will hopefully start something in Rotherham that will continue long after we've gone.

"I met a cabbie the other day who is a trained Indian chef so we will hopefully be getting him a regular slot to teach people Indian cooking - that's what I want.

"If anyone has a good local recipe or knowledge of food they should get in touch and help us out."
