Jack Dyson received £1,000 for his school and a sparkling trophy after officially being confirmed as Britain’s Top Trump-er.
The 11-year-old is the champ at the popular card game after winning a tough contest against 71 other finalists. The Marlcliffe Primary pupil triumphed in a competition which initially attracted 100,000 entrants from schools throughout the country.
Jack, of Grove Avenue, Hillsborough, lifted the trophy at a presentation at his school. His class is looking forward to a VIP trip to the Science Museum, the London venue for the final, this week.
Jack said: “It’s great being treated like a star - now I know how David Beckham feels!”
“Everyone keeps congratulating me when I’m walking around the school, even the teachers.”
Mum Jayne said Jack had never played the game until it was introduced as a lunchtime pastime at his school.
