Sing when you’re winning
THEY looked as good as they sounded.
These are the 24 members of Sheffield Harmony who excelled themselves in the Sweet Adelines International competition at Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Competing against 22 other choirs from across the UK and Netherlands, the American judges commended the Sheffield singers for their vocal skills their “lovely” stage appearance and their choice of music.
Musical director, Barry Clinton, was commended for his “debonair on-stage presence.”
Barry said: “I was delighted with our performance.
“ Everyone has worked incredibly hard to prepare for the competition and it was fantastic all the hard work paid off, especially on such a huge stage.
“All chorus members were buzzing with excitement after the fun of the event.
“We love making great music and it’s brilliant to get together with so many great women singers and to perform at such a fantastic venue.”
Events coordinator, Winn Topham, one of the longest standing members of the chorus, added: “They did us proud! It was wonderful.”
