FUNDRAISERS aged from five to 76 got on their bikes to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Organisers of the Park 2 Park Bike Ride are celebrating raising a total of £15,000 at this year’s event, which took place in September.
The cash, which smashed the target set beforehand, has been donated to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
More than 180 cyclists climbed into the saddle to pedal from Rother Valley Country Park to Poolsbrook Country Park along the Trans Pennine Trail.
Organiser Aubrey Hill said: “I obviously underestimated everyone - I thought the event might raise £6,000 to £8,000. I’m absolutely amazed and delighted.”
