It's back to school for the singing sisters - SLIDESHOW

SINGING sisters Nicola and Francine Gleadall proved a smash hit with children at their former primary school when they turned up at the annual summer fete.

The identical twins, who used to attend Dronfield's William Levick School, were guests of honour at the fundraising event.

They posed for photographs with their fans and signed autographs while they looked around their old school and spent time reminiscing.

They performed songs for the children and their parents and judged a wellington boot decorating competition, which was won by a young boy who covered his pair with hair before sticking photographs of the long-haired blonde sisters on them. The duo also pulled out the winning tickets in a raffle and hosted an auction.

Altogether the event raised around 1,000.

Nicola and Francine have appeared on two TV talent shows in a bid to make it big in the music industry. Their first shot at fame was on The X Factor and they fought off competition from tens of thousands of hopefuls to get through to the boot camp stage of the contest. They were also runners-up appeared on the BBC's Your Country Needs You to find a contestant for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Simon Pratt, a member of the school's Parents, Teachers and Friends Association, which organised the fete, said: "The girls were brilliant.

"They spent ages here singing for the children, taking part in the raffle and auction and judging the welly decorating competition.

"They even donated an item for the auction which they were given when they were on the Eurovision show and it raised 55 for us. They were happy to be here and had photographs taken with the children and signed autographs."
