EVERYTHING at Asda is cheap, the company claims, apart from one thing – its parking tickets.
Emma Watson visited the Chaucer Road store in Parson Cross earlier this month and popped back later in the day for a few forgotten items.
So far, so cheap.
But on Saturday she got a parking ticket demanding £40 with photos of her car allegedly overstaying the time limit.
Emma, of Deerlands Mount, Parson Cross, said: “I was stunned when I got the ticket through the post.
“There’s no way I overstayed.”
Her uncle John Thompson went down to the store for an explanation and says he was told by a manager that the cameras were not working properly.
He said: “How many people have been issued tickets wrongly?”
ASDA has refunded the ticket and apologised - but it insists the cameras are working properly.
A spokeswoman said: “We apologise for any confusion we caused Emma, and have refunded her parking ticket.
“We can confirm the cameras in the car park at Parson Cross are not malfunctioning.”
