The six-year-old black and white cat was brought to the Sheffield Animal Centre by an inspector, after he was found straying in a poorly state.

RSPCA spokesman Adam Spencer said: “Leroy was underweight and very lethargic when he was brought to the centre in June, but after some monitoring and medication, this handsome young chappy started to feel much better.

“Leroy was initially a little shy but he is growing in confidence. He loves a fuss and gentle groom and, when fully relaxed, he will play.

“This handsome gent can still get a little shy around new people, so is looking for a home with no very young children - if any.

“At times, Leroy gets easily anxious, sometimes resulting in minor urine infections, for which he`s currently on medication, but which may be long term.”

It is not known how Leroy would handle a new home with existing dogs or cats, so plenty of initial meetings would be necessary.

Adam added: “Has our handsome and totally gorgeous Leroy caught your eye? Maybe he could be the cat you have been looking for? Can you offer him the loving forever home he’s been looking for?”
