Bosses of a Sheffield bus firm have launched an investigation after a single decker struck a female pedestrian, leaving her with serious injuries.
The elderly woman was badly injured in the collision on Angel Street in Sheffield city centre at 5.30pm on Wednesday. The crash led to the road being closed while police accident investigators examined the scene.
The bus involved was a number 52 service travelling to Woodhouse.
Nobody else was hurt.
A spokesman for First said: “We are fully supporting South Yorkshire Police in their investigations and we have launched our own investigation into the incident.
“We understand that the lady has suffered serious injuries.
“Our thoughts are with her and her family.”
