FIRE investigators are still probing the cause of a blaze at a derelict sports centre.
About 30 people called emergency services after seeing black smoke coming from Colley Sports Centre on Remington Road, Parson Cross.
Crews battled the flames for more than three hours on Wednesday night.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “The fire’s cause is still under investigation.
“Part of the roof was left on the derelict building and that has collapsed, it looks as though just the bricks remain.
“We had lots of calls because I think you could see the smoke for a good few miles - about 20 or 30 people rang 999.”
Residents, one of whom sent in this picture of the fire, said smoke could be seen for miles around.
