HOUSEHOLDERS are being urged to insulate their homes - as the Met Office warns cold weather could last until the end of April.
The National Insulation Association says up to 60 per cent of heat can be lost through uninsulated walls and roofs.
But, with the right measures put in place, householders could make their homes warm and comfortable and reduce fuel bills by up to £320 a year.
Neil Marshall, Chief Executive of the NIA, said: “Home insulation is the single most effective method to stop heat escaping and save money on domestic fuel bills, with savings continuing year on year.
“Not only will householders have a more comfortable and warm home but they will be saving carbon from day one.”
