A former South Yorkshire police inspector turned author is returning to the scene of a previous book signing in Sheffield.

Michael Fowler is to go back to WH Smiths in Meadowhall shopping centre due to demand from fans of his crime novels.

Mr Fowler, of Swinton, Rotherham, will be answering further enquiries on Saturday.

Mr Fowler, who served in the police for 30 years and worked undercover for various squads, said: “It’s great to be back on home turf signing copies of my books and meeting people who love crime thrillers.

“The books resonate with people around here because this is where they are set.”

Michael’s three novels, Heart of the Demon, Cold Death and Secrets of the Dead, are set in the fictional South Yorkshire town of Barnwell. and feature Detective Sergeant Hunter Kerr.

A fourth book, called Coming, Ready or Not is due to be published in September and his first DS Hunter Kerr crime novella, Black & Blue is also to be released online.

Mr Fowler is also due to give a talk with Broomhill-based crime author Danuta Reah, on Monday, April 28, in Sheffield Central Lib-
rary.
