An inquest has been opened into the death of a 44-year-old man found with a single stab wound to the chest in his Balby home.
The circumstances surrounding Giovanni Leggieri’s death remain unclear but police are not currently seeking anyone in connection with the incident.
Mr Leggieri was found dead at his home in Balby Road by a visitor on Sunday September 14.
Police were called at around 5.20am on September 14 and attended the address.
A post-mortem examination confirmed he died from the single stab wound.
The inquest was adjourned until a date to be fixed next year whilst police continue their investigations.
Detectives investigating the death have issued a photograph and re-appeal for information to trace his last movements.
Officers state that Mr Leggieri, who was known as John or Johnny, had shorter hair than in the attached photo and it had also started to go grey.
Mr Leggieri also had a moustache and is believed to have been living in Doncaster for around four to five months. Prior to this, he lived in West Yorkshire.
Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who knows Mr Leggieri and who may have seen him in the weeks before his death.
