Inquest into death plunge

AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a woman who fell from the John Lewis department store car park in Sheffield city centre.

Claire Turpin, aged 42, of Malham Place, Chapeltown, plunged to her death near Barker’s Pool on Sunday.

She landed on the roof of a car which had three people inside, and which was parked beside the shop.

Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A full inquest will be heard once inquiries are carried out on behalf of the coroner.
