A woman thrown off her horse after yobs pelted stones at them is no longer in a life threatening condition in hospital.

Lindsey Hawkins, aged 28, from Thurcroft, was riding along a track near Duke of Norfolk Lane, Wickersley, Rotherham, when the yobs attacked her horse.

Her seven-year-old Shire Gipsy Cob cross, Murphy, reared up and Lindsey fell to the ground.

She underwent brain surgery and was placed into an induced coma but is now improving.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: We haven’t made any arrests as yet, but enquiries are continuing.”
