MOUNTAIN rescue team volunteers helped a climber who suffered a broken pelvis in a fall and a mountain biker who dislocated his hip in another accident.

The 54-year-old climber, from Alfreton, was leading a route at High Neb, Stanage Edge, when he fell on Saturday at about 3pm.

Rescue team members, who were fundraising in Hathersage and Edale, placed him on a spinal board and helped load him into an air ambulance which flew him to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

The following day the team was called out to a mountain biker who crashed on a track above Ladybower Reservoir.

The 37-year-old, from Buxton, was also flown to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield by an air ambulance.
