ADVENTUROUS Sheffield health trust board member Tony Clayton has completed an epic 14,000-mile journey across 28 countries for charity.

Tony Clayton, a Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust non-executive director, took a Suzuki Jimny across Europe and Asia to Mongolia on the eight-week trip.

The 62-year-old from Hackenthorpe was joined on the trip by friend Bren Bolger, 59, from Chapeltown.

They were supporting Sheffield Hospitals Charity, for its work in supporting mental health services.

Before setting off they offered members of the public in Sheffield a chance to join in, by making a donation and adding their signature to the car, nicknamed Genghis.

Tony said: “It was an incredible journey but fortunately there were no disasters!”

So far, £2,335 has been raised but sponsorship is still being collected.
