Increase in people in work welcomed by Sheffield councillor

New figures which show there has been an increase in the number of people in work have been welcomed by a Sheffield councillor.

Statistics show there are now 36,000 more people in employment across Yorkshire and Humber, and nationally 345,000 people found employment.

Coun Colin Ross, leader of the Sheffield Liberal Democrats, said there had been a jump of 21,000 more people finding work in the city since 2010.

He said: “There is a long way to go, but it is clear measures to build a stronger economy are coming to fruition.”
