Illegal taxis are targeted
A CLAMPDOWN on illegal taxi drivers in Rotherham is being carried out - to keep revellers safe.
The council said it was timed to coincide with the festive period to ensure people get home safely.
The crackdown follows an operation earlier this month on private hire and Hackney vehicles where two drivers were found to be illegally plying for trade.
The council is reminding people that private hire vehicles must be pre-booked but Hackney cabs can be flagged down.
