If you don't work, you get no pay

OH dear. I have upset Alan Charlesworth, who offered a typical Labour response. Call me a Tory! My pedigree: born in 1938, lived in a slum surrounded by rolling mills, forges, gas works, power station. A foundry was two doors away. Four children, moved when I was 32.

My dad, grandad, uncles, cousins, all worked in steel works. I worked in building trade. Rained off! Snowed off! Off sick? Money? Peanuts, not like now. My generation: no work, no money. I have never voted Tory, nor would I vote for this lot.

David Brumpton, Ridal Ave, S36
