Get your skates on - that’s the message to youngsters in South Yorkshire.
Olympic-standard rink iceSheffield is giving away 10,000 free vouchers to primary and secondary schools across Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster to celebrate a landmark birthday.
Each year, more than 11,000 schoolchildren skate at iceSheffield as part of the national curriculum.
The additional tickets, which will be dished out this month, mark 10 years in business for the facility.
General manager Mandy Parker said: “Since 2003, more than 100,000 schoolchildren have benefited from our facilities.
“Ice skating can help improve confidence and it’s a great way for young people to keep fit and healthy.”
iceSheffield was built with £12.9 million of Sport England funding and opened by HRH Princess Anne in 2003 as a national centre of excellence for ice sports.
Since then the venue has trained elite skaters such as British Junior men’s champion Peter Hallam and Dancing On Ice’s Mark Hanretty.
