Residents in Doncaster are being invited to nominate a local charity to receive a year’s worth of fundraising and support a supermarket.

Sainsbury’s Edenthorpe wants customers and colleagues to put forward the names of charities based in Doncaster that are important to them.

Votes can be made in the shop on Thorne Road.

A shortlist will be drawn up after nomimations close on May 25.

A decision will be due shortly afterwards.

Last year the store raised £7,000 for Macmillan Cancer Care.

Manager Andy Firth said: “This is a great opportunity for our customers to give a local charity close to their hearts the chance to receive fundraising and other support for a whole year.”
