More than 500 people have attended a jobs fair in Chesterfield town centre.
The jobseekers received employment and training advice from more than 40 Derbyshire businesses at the free event, which took place at the Assembly Rooms, upstairs at Chesterfield Market Hall, on Friday.
The jobs fair was organised by Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins, Jobcentre Plus and the Career Transition Partnership. They were particularly keen to support ex-armed forces personnel back into work.
Mr Perkins, who opened the event with a presentation, said: “It was great to see this jobs fair happen and it proved that hundreds of unemployed people really do want to find work. I hope they found it useful.”
