Human remains discovered at a Doncaster beauty spot more than two weeks ago are those of an adult male.
The body parts were found on a railway embankment near to the Hexthorpe Junction in Balby on Sunday, March 29, at 12.45pm.
British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed the remains are those of a fully grown man - but the cause of death and full identification matters are still under investigation.
A BTP spokesman said: “The remains are that of an adult male.
“The cause of death is still regarded as unexplained at this time.
“Further investigations are taking place to try and establish how he died and wether or not the remains are historic or more recent.
“Once we know more from this side of the investigation then we will be in a better position to formally identify the man.
“The matter will then be referred to the coroner.”
