Well, it seems the explanation may be more scientific than you think.
A group of German researchers have discovered waving your cash or snapping your fingers won’t do it – it’s all about body language.
Research showed staff are more likely to serve a customer who is standing facing the bar, making eye contact and isn’t in conversation.
The study’s results are even being used to develop a bartending robot that will be able to spot those who really want a drink and serve them in the fairest order.
