I AGREE with D Wilson. The housing mess-up is down to bad management.
I speak from family experience. My mother-in-law, aged 90, wanted to move from her three-bedroom house to a flat or bungalow. But, she was told she'd be charged if she removed doors and other new things she had done to improve her house over the years.
After looking at the cost, she is now staying put. My son, a single man with 25 years on the waiting list keeps bidding and has never been offered anything but was advised to try renting private.
Caring council? I don't think.
