Housing project jobs

MORE than 50 people attended an open day to find out about job opportunities on a Sheffield housing project.

The event was organised by developer Keepmoat, which is building 52 apartments and four bungalows for over-55s at Arbourthorne Fields.

Representatives from Jobcentre Plus and Construction Careers were on hand to provide advice and help with CV writing and interview skills.

Among those interested in the jobs available was Andrew Williamson, aged 47, from Woodthorpe, who has been out of work for five years.

He said: “There are a lot of people out of work; it’s a terrible thing and there are people like me who want to find a job. I left my details and am hoping I’ll get something.”

All applicants for the apprentice roles are now being considered for work.
