Harworth Group plc has sold a 4.7 acre plot to Avant Homes to build new homes on the Waverley development, which is being built on former mining land.

The housing development is close to the Advanced Manufacturing Park at Catcliffe, where the University of Sheffield, Rolls-Royce and Boeing have bases.

Barratt Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Harron Homes have already built 600 homes there over the last four years.

Avant plans to build a range of two to four bedroomed houses.
