Around 2,500 Sheffield households were without water across north Sheffield this morning due to a main burst.
The incident happened on Rutland Road, Neepsend, in the early hours of today and supplies took several hours to be restored.
Areas of Burngreave, Fir Vale and Parson Cross were affected.
A Yorkshire Water spokeswoman said: “Supplies were restored by late morning. Work will now take place to repair the main, over the next four days.
“Traffic management will be in operation on Rutland Road during the works including temporary lights and a short diversion.”
The spokeswoman said the cause of the burst was likely to have been down to pressure within the pipe.
