Household chores keeps Mr Great Britain in shape - PICTURES

THIS is David Titterton - Harthill hulk and house husband.

The man mountain is totally committed to looking after his body...and the household chores.

Newly-crowned Mr Great Britain David fits a heavy training regime around an equally punishing domestic schedule.

When the 33-year-old is not pumping iron you'll find him catching up on the ironing, washing pots or pegging the washing out.

Every morning he's up at 5am to do a cardio workout.

Then at 7am he's preparing breakfast for himself, his wife Cheryl and his two kids Claudia, 10 and Sam, aged five.

After breakfast - he has oats, almonds, raisins, seven egg whites and a yolk - David takes the kids to school.

And back home on Winney Hill, Harthill, Sheffield, he does the vacuuming, cleaning and ironing, taking a break mid-morning for a protein shake.

He completes more chores before a lunch of turkey and sweet potatoes.

In the afternoon David trains and downs a couple of protein shakes before going to pick the kids up from school.

He then prepares dinner - white fish, or turkey with fresh veg for him - before spending time in the evening with his family.

But he manages to squeeze in a little more training before going to bed on a meal of salmon, seven egg whites and a yolk.

Teetotal David, who is known on the bodybuilding circuit as Dave T, said: "I'm especially busy in the build up to competitions.

"Along with the housework, training and dieting takes up most of each day.

"It's three hours cardio and two hours weight training each day.

"And, yes, I do nearly all the ironing, except Cheryl won't let me touch her going out clothes.

"My family are all very supportive, and this arrangement means I'm lucky enough to enjoy being able to spend time with the kids."

David, who trains at Quirk's Gym in Wincobank, is due to fly to South Africa later this month for a photoshoot - with the family, of course.

Then in October he will be representing Britain in the Mr Universe competition in Southport.

But Cheryl, who works as a business development manager for Acorn Industrial Services in Rotherham, said she plans to keep him busy in the meantime.

She said: "I'll find plenty for David to do!

"Seriously though I'm lucky to have him, he's a real gem and a big softie.

""When he drops the kids off at school the other children love to see him. He's a real celebrity.

"He often goes in to read to them and they think it's great having this huge muscleman in the classroom."
