House targeted during series of arson attacks across South Yorlshire

A unoccupied house was among property and vehicles targeted by arsonists in South Yorkshire over the weekend.

A quantity of cardboard was deliberately set on fire behind card shop Clintons, on Fargate, Sheffield at about 2am on Saturday.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze to prevent it from spreading.

A fire was also started deliberately in the first floor of a unoccupied house on Nile Street, Broomhill, Sheffield at 7pm last night.

A number of vehicles which were torched by arsonists.

Firefighters were called to a Vauxhall Astra, which was found burning on Conway Street, Stairfoot, Barnsley at 11pm on Friday night.

Two cars were also torched in Ward Green, Barnsley at 2am yesterday.
