Hotels in Sheffield reported 11.3 per cent fewer customers than last year during an unseasonably wet July, according to figures released today by PKF Hotel Consultancy Services.

Although room rates went up by 5.8 per cent, the ‘yield’ or profit made by hoteliers per room in Sheffield decreased overall by 6.1 per cent to £37.91.

Paul Clarke, Partner at PKF, said: “Hotels have had a lot to contend with this summer.”
