GRIMETHORPE Colliery band may have been snubbed at Wembley - but they’re the stars of a grand charity concert in South Yorkshire.
The famous ensemble, who were controversially invited to Wembley for the Champions League final at the weekend then told they could only play outside the ground, are performing at Wath Comprehensive School on Thursday, June 30, from 7.15pm.
Tickets cost £10 each, with proceeds to Rotherham Hospice and other local charities.
The event has been organised by Irene Hartley, who chairs Wath Area Fundraisers for Rotherham Hospice, and friends Anne Hampshire and Christine Bennington.
Tickets are available from the Labour Party Office, High Street, Wath, on 01709 875943, or Rotherham Hospice Furniture shop, on 07591657763.
