BINGO players at a sheltered housing complex in Denaby Main, Doncaster, have handed over a second donation to hospital staff.

The residents of Harrogate Court have given another £1,000 to the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, this time to be spent on Ward 27 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

They have previously given £1,000 to Dr David Cooper’s medical team at Mexborough Montagu Hospital.

The Harrogate Court residents formed a committee just over two years ago and since then they have been busy raising money through raffles and playing bingo.

Hilary Bond, director of Nursing and Quality, said: “A big thank you to all the residents of Harrogate Court for their very generous donation.

“Raising such a large amount of money by holding raffles and playing bingo is a great achievement.”

The cheque presentation was made by committee officials to Sister Tracey Brookes, who works on Ward 27.
