A charity raffle at the recent Hospitality Sheffield Awards raised £1,000 for nominated charities Weston Park and Support Dogs.

Seven awards were handed out, including the Sheffield Smile Award sponsored by The Star and won by Alicja Zalewska of the Copthorne Hotel.

Ian Slater, chairman of Hospitality Sheffield, said: “The hospitality industry has changed so much over the past 30 years but one thing has remained: excellent service – and the people who deliver it – is still the most important thing to our guests.”

BBC North’s Tom Ingall hosted the awards bash including a drinks reception and a dinner at Bramall Lane.

Nominations had been put forward by work colleagues and winners were chosen by a panel of industry experts.
