Hospital bosses in Sheffield are celebrating a six-figure donation towards new medical equipment.
Not-for-profit health insurance provider Westfield Health, based on Division Street in the city centre, has handed £250,000 to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity’s Make It Better Campaign.
It comes just weeks after Westfield gave £50,000 to the charity towards a gene sequencer.
David Vernon-Edwards, charity chief executive, said: “We are thrilled Westfield has made such significant donations to the charity.
“They have given both the charity and the hospital tremendous support over the years and we are exceptionally pleased they have chosen to do again.
“The donations go directly towards funding specialist pieces of equipment which means we can ensure we continue to deliver the best treatment and care to every child who visits the hospital.
“On behalf of the charity, the hospital, our staff and most importantly our patients, I would like to say a huge thank you to Westfield Health.”
Graham Moore, Westfield chairman, said: “The charity is a fantastic cause and provides magnificent support to the hospital, which we are so lucky to have in Sheffield.”
