SHEFFIELD companies made a knockout effort when they took part in one of the craziest events in the St Luke’s Hospice 40th anniversary calendar - and raised almost £9,000.

Ten teams from across the city signed up for the It’s a Knockout contest, which was hosted by HSBC Sports Ground in Dore and supported by Demon Wheelers, wearing outrageous costumes and getting a good soaking as they threw themselves into a series of challenges based on the cult 1970s TV show.

The winners were Alpha Rooms followed by Medilink Yorkshire & Humber, BHP, Rider Levett Bucknall, Panache Lingerie, Close Credit Management, Services Design Associates, Santander, Yorkshire Bank and Co-op Funeral Care.

n The grand total raised so far is £8,630.
