BARNSLEY MPs visited charity shops as part of a campaign to encourage more donations.
Michael Dugher, MP for Barnsley East, and Angela Smith, MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge, supported the Choose Charity Shops drive.
Yesterday they called in at Barnsley Hospice’s shops in Stairfoot and Penistone.
On Friday, May 18, John Healey, the MP for Wentworth and Dearne, will go to the Goldthorpe branch – and Dan Jarvis, MP for Barnsley Central, will visit the Eldon Street branch.
The hospice’s shops generate about £900,000 a year.
Retail and fundraising manager Dawn Charlesworth said: “Money spent in our shops helps people at a time when they need it most.”
