THE curtain is rising on a major new partnership between two of Sheffield’s best-loved institutions.
As they both celebrate their 40th anniversaries, Sheffield Theatres has named St Luke’s Hospice as its charity of the year.
“We are delighted that as we reach such a landmark occasion for both of us, Sheffield Theatres are supporting us in this way,” said the hospice’s fundraising manager Hannah Jordan.
“As well as participating in events such as our 40th anniversary Starlight Walk in May, theatre staff are also planning events of their own including fancy dress events, bake sales and bucket collections.”
Dan Bates, chief executive of Sheffield Theatres, said: “As the Crucible and St Luke’s will both celebrate their 40th birthdays this year, it seemed this would be a natural partnership.”
