A CHILDREN’S hospice is calling upon people in South Yorkshire to be a hero - just for one day.
Bluebell Wood Hospice in North Anston wants businesses, schools, community groups and individuals to show their support for the charity during Children’s Hospice Week.
The national awareness drive launches on April 26 and culminates with a superheroes and heroines fancy dress day on May 3.
Anyone can get involved by dressing as a superhero and making a donation, or sponsoring a friend or colleague to wear fancy dress for the day, or taking part in the Bluebell Wood Superhero Sweepstake.
Heidi Megaughin, acting chief executive of Bluebell Wood, said: “Children’s Hospice Week is a great platform for Bluebell Wood to raise awareness of our services and the work we do as the only children’s hospice in the area.
“We hope schools, companies, groups of friends and individuals will get behind us and support us during the week.”
