Kell Brook will feel the love from thousands of adoring Sheffield fight fans when he takes to the ring a week on Saturday.

But it’s the night of passion that follows which is also on his mind.

And he doesn’t want that put in jeopardy by any low blows from so-called ‘dirty fighter’ Diego Chaves.

The Argentinian opponent has a reputation as a ruthless competitor prepared who resorts to head-butts, elbows or worse.

Brook has his mind on winning and then celebrating with his partner Lindsey. “I don’t want to see dirty tactics like elbows and shoulders. I don’t want any low blows either - I have a sexy night with the Mrs planned afterwards” he said.

“He is known for being dirty, but I hope the ref will keep it clean. But whatever he tries to do I am still going to rock and roll” said the unbeaten welterweight.

“We haven’t seen that side of me, getting hit by illegal or dirty blows, but I can assure you that if that happens I will survive. I am not known for fighting dirty, I listen to the ref and follow the boxing rules.

“Maybe he fights like that because he is desperate.

“I want to win by any means necessary, but always within the guidelines - this isn’t UFC or wrestling.

Brook said he’d faced a few over-aggressive opponents in the past but he’d always dealt with them and would do the same again.

However, he said he did expect a “very, very tough night” against a rival who will be much more threatening than his last two opponents, Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin.

“He has boxed a higher level than them and as an interim world champion knows what it’s like at the top.

“He has corrected some of his wrong ways and it will be a difficult night’s work.”

Meanwhile Brook isn’t getting excited about Amir Khan’s claims he is now considering him as an opponent.

Khan said: “It just seems (Manny) Pacquiao doesn’t want to fight me” and then named Danny Garcia, Lamont Peterson and Sheffield’s Brook, 29, as alternatives.

“A fight with Kell Brook could happen as well - he is one of the top guys who we would be looking at.”

But Brook has grown tired of calling Khan out, and is now 100 per cent focussed on the job in hand at Sheffield Arena.
