KIDS can learn how to look after rabbits responsibly during a series of free workshops at pet superstores in South Yorkshire.
The sessions are at Pets At Home shops in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster on Saturday and Sunday at 2.30pm.
Children will be given the chance to handle rabbits while experts give tips on keeping them healthy and happy.
Coinciding with Rabbit Awareness Week, children will find out the correct foods to give to rabbits, where they should live, how to keep them entertained and how to hold them gently.
Rabbit owners are advised to feed their pets good quality hay, as well as healthy snacks such as fruit and vegetables, and give them plenty of space for exercise.
If kept outdoors, rabbits should be protected from harsh weather conditions and owners should also ensure rabbits don’t chew on dangerous objects such as power cables.
A Pets At Home spokesperson said: “Children will learn not only about the great fun and companionship rabbit ownership brings, but also about the level of care and dedication required before deciding to get a pet.”
