Honouring an Irish legend
AN IRISH revolutionary who played a prominent role in the 1916 Easter Rising, then went on to settle in Sheffield, will be the subject of a talk on Sunday.
Sean McLoughlin was involved in the formation of Ireland's first communist party, but in later life he moved to Sheffield where he raised a family.
His story will be told by Scottish historian Charlie McGuire, at St Vincent's social club on Solly Street in Sheffield city centre at 6.30pm.
The talk will be followed by a concert by local Irish band Ballyhoo.
