Three of the properties being built at Sheffield Housing Company’s Brearley Forge scheme in Parson Cross will be among the greenest in Britain.

The company, a consortium between Sheffield Council and private firms, is building the homes to level six of the government’s code for ‘sustainable’ properties, the highest standard. The homes – work on which was launched last year, pictured – will have extremely high levels of insulation, a heat recovery system and solar panels.
