Home-cooking and no obesity

REALLY must agree with Monica regarding her opinions on the 1950s-60s eating habits and that obesity was generally an unknown word.

During the war, we were heavily food-rationed, but never starved. All our food was home-cooked with no additives and McDonald’s did not exist, thank goodness.

Neither did we experience all the allergies which are now endured.

My two children would walk home from school in the 1950s-60s and warm home- made bread would be waiting on the kitchen table for them.

I suppose these days it would be a bag of sweets.
